Bahareh Hedayat is currently serving a 9.5-year sentence for speaking out against the current regime in power in Iran. Bahareh, an internationally praised student activist, has been arrested a number of times for standing up to the injustices of her government and has suffered, first-hand, because she insists on using her voice, a right that we in the United States often take for granted.
